Self manager super loans are a great way to invest in property using funds you are already set aside for retirement. For anyone who has at least $120,000 in superannuation, one investment to consider is real estate. Thanks to changes recently made, you may now be able to buy property with you superannuation through the use of an SMSF loan. For this type of loan, your interest rates may be slightly higher than standard loan rates, but all of the bells and whistles will still be included. The first step in this process is to use an SMSF loan calculator to see if this may be an option for you. Once this has been completed, if it looks like you are a good candidate, required documents will need to be provided so an Approval in Principle may be filed. This will give you a better idea of whether or not you will be approved.

Self manager super loans are similar to other loans in many ways. You may choose the loan of the term, up to 30 years for residential properties and up to 20 for commercial real estate. This time frame will vary from lender to lender so be sure to ask before proceeding. An interest only loan may also be available for a period of up to 15 years depending on the type of loan and the lender.
