Stop Toying Around and Blog

It can be pretty difficult to run a fairly small business.  You need to find ways to compete with larger, more dominant firms, even while you have a smaller budget, fewer resources and fewer people.  I’ve always felt that one of the ways smaller firms can leapfrog older and more established companies, is through technology.  The internet especially offers a way for smaller companies to reach out to a wider and even global marketplace, in order to look for customers for its goods.  And with shipping and delivery companies available, you could potentially sell your wares in neighbouring as well as farther countries. The business is growing thankfully, and it’s reaching the point where we’re now looking into an IT support package for our firm.  Computers are important to the work that we do, and since the company is growing, the relatively small computer network in our office is also expanding.  And it’s getting to the point where we can no longer stay on top of things in case something goes wrong.  We’re not I.T. experts ourselves, and we really would rather not have to devote too much manpower to that aspect of the business.  That’s why we’re looking to outsource. It can be pretty tough to come to a decision though, because different companies offer different packages.  It can be hard to figure out which one to go for.  What’s important for us is that there is a helpline available 24/7, in case something goes wrong over on our end.  After all, we’d like to try fixing the problem before asking someone to come over.  Different packages offer different numbers of calls though, so it’s hard to estimate if 30 calls will be enough, or if we need 50 or something else.
