Once a company has decided to use trade show displays as a way to market and advertise their product or service, they will need to decide what type of display will best suit their needs.
Before any decision can be made there are a few things to consider. First, knowing the size and location is a must if space has already been rented at the trade show or convention beforehand. Trade show displays vary greatly in size. Adequate space is necessary to be able to present product or service in a professional and visually inviting manner. Budget is the next on the list to be taken into consideration. Fortunately, there are trade show displays that are low cost and with a little creativity still have the potential and capability to yield the same results as a larger more expensive display. Finally, the last to be considered is how portable the display needs to be. While some displays can be as portable as a small carrying case, some are larger and more cumbersome, possibly requiring special freight services. In short, size and location of trade show space, budget and transportation all need to be taken into consideration when deciding the type of display to be used.
Once the above have been determined, the different types of trade show displays are ready to be reviewed. Three of the more common types of displays are tabletop displays, pop-up displays and panel displays.
Tabletop displays are designed to do just that – sit on top of a table. With three panels to hold necessary graphics, these types of trade show displays are lightweight, easy to assemble and one of the least expensive.
Pop-up displays, often called pull-up or portable displays, are lightweight and easy to assemble. They have a flexible frame that is covered with fabric panels. These panels create curved, angled or straight walls. This type of trade show display can be used alone or be part of a larger presentation.
Last but not least, there are panel displays. These particular types of trade show displays are fabric covered walls or panels, similar to office cubicle walls. They are very popular at trade shows. However, they are more cumbersome and would require special services for transportation and assembly making them one of the more expensive displays to be used.
