How do most citizens view the fact that the SB1070 has been branded by many as controversial and has logically led to a lot of indignation throughout the country? In short, the text of this law makes it clear that any alien who tries to obtain entry to the U.S., does not cooperate with the immigration officers, or deliberately fakes and misleads his/her representation is guilty of improper entry by an alien. It is true that the Legal Translation in Phoenix may face serious difficulties as according to some statistics several hundred thousand people are illegal immigrants in Arizona. Thus, the only way for those people to survive in this hostile environment, where English seems to be a major problem is by benefiting from those services. It is worth noting that it is already against the law for anyone to reside in the U.S. without proper documentation. The fact that calls for boycotts of everything that has any relation with Arizona are heard everywhere may have an even more negative impact on the whole situation. Thus lots of employees of Phoenix Translator will be threatened to be left unemployed. As the U.S. has never had open immigration for anyone who wants to come, the picture remains very grim and unpromising for citizens of Phoenix and the whole state of Arizona.San Diego, California is another city where people have shown their indignation with this repressive law. A demonstration of around a thousand people saw them marching on the streets of San Diego until they reached the federal building chanting and banging drums all the way through. Among the many spectators who interrupted work and gathered to watch the demonstration were San Diego Translator workers who witnessed how the police cars and motorcycles escorted the protesters. They showed concern as most of the immigrants use their services and this could lead to worsening of their economic status. San Diego’s Angelica Hueso-Garcia was only one of the protesters who had decided to express their concerns at Chicano Park. She called it unjust and ?racial profiling at its worst? and said she had brought all her family, including her three children, to the demonstration. Logically, the employees of the interpretation and translation business were supportive of the demonstrators who regularly took advantage of their Birth Certificate Translation Services and Marriage Certificate Translation Services and such restrictions could put their business in hazard. In some moments of tension outside the federal building, people on opposing sides of the immigration law collected across Front Street and from time to time shouted loudly and exchanged crude gestures, but the police had the situation under control. There were though no reports of violence despite the protesters trying to insult each other. Groups were moved approximately fifty feet apart and separated with yellow tape by San Diego police. The protesters to the Arizona law sang “Stop racial profiling” and “What do we want? Justice! When do we want it? Now!?” while the supporters of the immigration law shouted “Build a Fence” and “We love Arizona.” Many other people across the country who were displeased with the policy led by Congress and President Obama went on similar demonstrations against the new law in order to support the immigrants who should be given the chance to acquire legal status.
