Stop Toying Around and Blog

Every time a person buys something with a loyalty card, gives out their phone number to a store when they buy something or give their email address somewhere online, they end up on a list.  These lists end up helping you and your business.  If you are looking ways to get your business out to more people, consumer mailing lists is one way to go.

People leave information to get onto consumer mailing lists constantly and everywhere.  Most of the time they don’t even realize it.  But, they are leaving footprints all over the place.  Companies can collect those footprints, the little bits of information that customers leave behind them, and collate them into lists.  Consumers are on lists that include their age, gender, credit scores, preferred stores and websites, favorite groceries to buy, if they have kids, plus the ages of the children, and so many other things.  Most consumers are on multiple lists.  Some companies use these list internally, to target a consumer with specific products.  For example, if you buy a particular type of book from an online seller, that seller is going to know that you bought that book, and will recommend that you buy more books similar to the purchased book.

So, how does this help you and your business?  There are companies, Infogroup for example, whose entire job revolves around finding information on consumers and compiling them into consumer mailing lists.  They then take those lists and will sell them to you.  You can also get the company to customize a list specifically to your needs.  If your company sells blue widgets to single men in the northwest region of Georgia, you don’t want a list that includes information about married women in Washington State, they are out of your demographic.

Buying consumer mailing lists will help you get your business information out to those people who are most likely to use your business the most.  You can send emails or information through snailmail.  You can also use mailing lists to blanket a target area to help your business.  For example, if you are opening a new restaurant, you can send out mailers to everyone in your town so that they are aware you are now open, perhaps with coupons or specials to entice them in.
