Junk For Some But Treasure For Others

Saturday, September 18th, 2010

I work as a school janitor in a private high school. One of my assignments is to throw the trash of each classroom on the second and third floors. I use to check the trash bags because a couple of times I have sen paper bills thrown like garbage. I think they threw it out by mistake. You know how kids are. I return any valuable item I can find to the guidance office so that in case anybody comes looking for it, they are there. As I was checking the trash that day, I saw instruction manual for blackberry curve 8520 and instruction manual for motorola razr v3. I wondered why there are such in the trash bag because there is no way that cellphones are allowed in the school premises. Well, I did not return it to the office because I thought that it was worthless anyway. After picking up all the bags, I headed to the big dumpster. The day is finally over. School is out for the weekend and I will finally rest myself once more. In reality, my job is not that strenuous. I get to meet a lot of interesting kids and sometimes they become my friends. These kids are very respectful and they know how to ask politely if they need anything. But one thing I am sure of, they are not very neat people. Their classrooms are all a mess after classes. You will not even consider it a classroom after the day is done. Well, I guess that is why I am hired. To fix the rooms and make sure that everything is ready for the following day.

Building And Developing An Animator Career

Wednesday, September 15th, 2010

If you’re dedicated to the art of animation and wondering future job outlooks and trends for an animator, it’s simple: Animate, animate, animate. If you don’t spend a lot of your time actually animating, you can forget making a living on it. Here’s the trick:

You Have To Treat Your Hobby Like a Career

This means that you don’t just animate now and then, and you certainly don’t just not do anything until someone gives you a job. Start a real animation project and see it through. Be realistic, of course. You probably can’t hand-animate an entire film in a year’s time or anything, but you can start a web series with Flash or create a CGI animated movie.

If you’re not doing a lot of animation, you won’t get the experience you need, you won’t have anything to put on your resume, and you won’t be able to easily find work in the field. When it comes right down to it, the only thing that’s going to matter in looking for a job is how talented you are. Employers will be looking at your animation work, not your online animation degree, not your resume, but your actual animation work. There Is one more step to making your way as a professional animator, though.

Know The Right People

This sounds like it depends on luck, and to a certain extent, it does. But really, sooner or later, you’ll meet someone who might be able to set you up with recurring work or just some good freelance jobs, especially if you spend a lot of time in the online animator communities. The trick, then is to treat people right.

Say you have an online friend who focuses on 3D animation. You meet someone else who needs some 3D animation done for their independent video game project. So you meet the two up, and now when that friend finds someone who needs what you do, they hook you up and so on.

It’s sort of about career-karma. You maintain friendly relations with others in your field, and jobs and opportunities will always remain on the horizon.

About Melbourne

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010

Can’t wait to attend the English school in Melbourne? I don’t blame you – it is a great city. So here is a little background information to get you started.

Melbourne is always right in the heels of Sydney. The two cities are running an eternal rivalry, so when you travel to Australia, so be sure to see both cities. Otherwise you are cheating yourself. Melbourne is , with its 3.5 million inhabitants – including suburbs – the second largest city in Australia. The city is popularly known as the Australian cultural and sporting capital, and is home to numerous sporting events throughout the year. But Melbourne is also cultural diversity, and the city is known for its many immigrants, each of which helps to give the town character. Not least, the Greeks are visible in Melbourne, and they have created their own little enclave in the district of Carlton. Also the Chinese are strongly represented, and they have obviously their own Chinatown. Walking around in Melbourne is one option but you can also take the tram. The city has one of the largest tram networks in the world with 245 km track coach lines and 500 trams that cross through the town. So hop on the tram and enjoy a ride through the city. Melbourne is intersected by the river Yarra. The city’s many parks make Melbourne less compact compared to other cities. Along the southern bank is Southgate neighborhood, with its many restaurants and cafes is a lively neighborhood in the evening. Melbourne is the capital of the State of Victoria and the city is a good starting point for trips into Victoria. Unlike other parts of Australia, the attractions in Victoria are within a reasonable driving distance, and indeed some of the national parks in Victoria can be reached on a day trip from Melbourne

I am the worlds worst at remembering my passwords to anything. I need to write them down, but I am always afraid that someone will find where they are, and be able to get into my accounts. i forgot my username for gmail the other day, but I had google send it to me via another email account I have. I am certain I am not the only one that has forgotten their password. I used to use the same password for all of my accounts, but a friend told me not to do that. So, i forgot my sim card password, and was so upset. I think I will use the same password for most of my accounts so I wont forget it all the time. It is hard to remember them all, especially if I use a different one for each account. I think I will put all my passwords on a flash drive I have and that I carry around. I mean, when I forgot my username for gmail and I forgot my sim card password, it took me forever to recover it. I have to have those passwords with me at all times. I am on my computer daily checking my email, so I need my password. Where do you keep your passwords? I wish there was some other way to get into your account other than using a password all the time. Maybe you can have gmail and your sim card, just ask a question that only you know the answer to, and do it that way. I know they are in place to protect your accounts from being hacked, but it is just so hard to remember all the different usernames and passwords I have to remember.

Know Who Your True Friends Are

Friday, August 13th, 2010

Happy, fruitful and wealthy times would not prompt you to look for your real friends. Everybody is your best pal and everyone who knows you is a relative of some sort. The moment you go down the line and encounter bleak moments, then you will be able to realize that you might have been with the wrong crowd and have forgotten or have set aside your real friends while having fun with the false guys. These are my realizations after college. I graduated from a reputable university with honors and right away, I got the job of my dreams, As I was earning and splurging, I noticed I am also gaining a lot of “friends”. Everywhere I go, there are smiles and best offers. I also experienced this one time at a cafe near the office having a video conference with my boss and peers in Cincinnati when this guy came to me and said that he used to be my seat mate in junior high and that we are really close friends. That time, I have already made a name for myself and has an established career with all the material things anyone could ask for. I remembered him after a few minutes, he was the guy who has been very kind to help with ms excel problems then. That guys offered again this time help with ms excel 2007. I think he heard me having problems with the application. He told me that one of our friends has been very ill and almost lost everything in life. I got his contact number and went to the address he gave me. There I found my best friend 10 years ago– the rich and famous cheerleader of the batch. Now, without friends, or even relatives to draw strength from.
